What do I need to bring with me?
Each player must have a piece of government issued identification. If a player is missing their identification, and the opposing team raises concerns regarding your player's eligibility prior to the game, that player will not be permitted to participate. It is also important to bring appropriate footwear (shoes; no open toed shoes, flip-flops, or bare feet) , soccer protection (shin-pads), sun protection (hat and sunscreen), and plenty of fluids to stay hydrated.

How many players are on the field at one time for my team?
Each team will have 3 players plus a goalie on the field at one time for the grass events. The beach events have 4 players plus a goalie at all times.

How many players does my team need?
Signing up is as easy as finding only 3 of your friends for a total of 4 players. Our tournaments are set up to avoid all the painful commitments associated with joining a soccer league or of trying to organize 15 different people for an 11 a side tournament. There is no cap on the maximum number of players you may have. The recommended number of players on a team is 7, which provides for a two full lines of players and one goalie.

How many games does my team get to play?
Your team is guaranteed a minimum of three games. Teams can play up to six games if they continue to win in the playoff rounds and it is a large division. Each game is composed of two 15 minute halves and a 5 min warm-up.

What is the cost to participate in the tournament?
The price to participate in a tournament varies from city to city, but in general we try and keep the cost per player to around $35.00/player for the entire weekend. It is possible to lower the cost per player by adding more players to your team however. If price is an issue, we recommend finding a local business to help by sponsoring your team.

Is it possible to get a refund if we are unable to play anymore?
Canada Kicks has a strict no refund policy on the deposit paid to participate. The deposit is considered 60% of the full team registration cost. If your team is unable to participate in the tournament after registering already, you may receive up to 40% of your registration fee back if it is BEFORE the registration deadline, or have a free transfer to another tournament in the area. The 60% tournament deposit is non refundable under any circumstances.

Does Canada Kicks support any charities with registration proceeds?
Canada Kicks is proud to partner with MLSE Foundation with proceeds supporting initiatives like their Kickstart Soccer Program which teaches youth the fundamentals of playing soccer and promotes equal opportunity for youth in the sport.

How many male and female players must be on the field at all times in the Co-ed division?
There must be a minimum of two males, and two females on the field at all times during the game in the co-ed division. The fifth player on the field (4 + goalie) can be either a male or a female player of your teams choosing.

Are there prizes for winning the tournament?
What more could you want for winning the tournament than bragging rights? Well fortunately, we will also award tournament winners exclusive championship t-shirts.

Can I sign up as an individual or do I need a full team?
It is not possible to sign up as an individual, however if you are interested in participating but can not field a full team, please contact us and we will try our best to find a team for you to join.

What are the dimensions of the soccer fields?
Fields for the grass events will be approximately 25m x 15m. For field size in the beach event please visit www.canadabeachsports.com.

How large are the nets used at your event?
The nets are approximately 3 meters x 2 meters, the size of your standard futsal soccer net.

Do I need to bring a ball or does Canada Kicks provide the game balls?
Canada Kicks provides all game balls, however it is suggested you bring your own ball to warm up with.

What happens if our team is wearing the same coloured jerseys as our opponents?
In the event that both teams are wearing identical jerseys which are indistinguishable to the referee, pinnies will be provided for the away team to put over top of their normal jerseys. All teams are required to bring their own team jerseys with them.
